Where's your classroom? What kind of hours? Right now, we're looking for a permanent home (let us know if you have space to share!), but we book classes around Windsor. We try to book both evening and weekend courses, and we can do daytimes on special request for groups of 10 or more (ask your friends!)

"Hey, wait - I can't find you on the W.S.I.B. page!" Aha! Good eye. That's because we're listed under "Emergmart Response Systems, Inc., Code Eight EMS Division." Nice catch, and we commend you on your diligence!

How long does training take? There's an online portion which takes 4-6 hours; that's got to be completed on your own time. Once that's done, the in-person training then takes either one day or two, depending on the course.

How long do certifications last? Who gives the certifications? What happens if I lose my card? All our certifications last for three years, though we really do recommend refresher training every year, two maximum. Our certifying agency is listed on the WSIB website as Emergmart Response Systems, and all certification cards bear their numbering system for easy authentication - and easy replacement if you lose your card. (Hey, stuff happens. We get it.) We also keep a digital copy of that card - a literal scan - on file so that we can e-mail you a replacement while you wait for the physical copy to arrive.

Can we do online-only training? What about recertifying? Ah, sorry. In Ontario, there is no W.S.I.B.-approved online-only first aid course. Let us be clear - if you've been offered online-only training, a) that training just isn't good enough to teach you what you need to know and b) it's not legal training anyways! When it comes to recertification, W.S.I.B. allows a one-time recertification which takes one in-class day. After that, everyone's got to take the full class again - but that can be up to six years away.

Are there prerequisites? Do we have to pass a test? Yes, but don't worry - we love to help! There's an online portion which ALL students must take before coming to class. No choice, all the modules MUST be fully completed and passed with a minimum of 70% - but they're easy quizzes at the end of each module. Worried? Don't be. We'll make sure you know what you're doing. In class, we get to evaluate students face-to-face, and our policy is that "no one fails"; if a student's not grasping the concepts, we'll stay with you until you do. We get it - everyone learns in different ways, but the tests aren't hard - and that's how you and your staff will have the confidence to know you can perform when someone's life is on the line.
